Bernina 1958

About 2 weeks ago my hubby and I went to some garage sales. I was looking for old scrabble games and as I was just walking along and my eyes locked in on an old Berninia sewing machine. I walked away thinking I don't need that but something kept pulling me back. I think it was the machine telling me to please take it home. Well I pulled my hubby in that direction and he asked me if I wanted it, well all he had to do is ask me one time. I grabbed it well I did not grab it because it was a heavy machine lol. It had not been used in 17 years. The gentleman who sold it to me said his wife made many a dress with that machine. Even if it did not work I still wanted it. So I took it to the dr. to have it checked out. It cost me more to have it serviced than the purchase price but it was sure worth it to me. Today I took her for a test drive and she sews like a top. I absolutely love it. To my amazement it still had the book with it. It does not have the foot peddle so I am having to get use to using my leg to make it go. Oh and it has a knob for the back stitch. Love my old machine. Of course I have to show the picture. No telling what I will find next time.
